Are you a person who is made fun of by your friends for having obsessive compulsive like qualities so obvious that they are out of the ball park of plausible deniability? If any of these descriptions fit you then there is a good chance that you are Atelophobic.
Step 2: Identify the Root Cause of the Problem
This is a very important step. Identifying the cause of a problem may give you a direct solution on how to solve that problem. Does you Atelophobic tendencies stem from your childhood upbringing? Is it a learnt behavior acquired from years of social programming? Could it be related to some traumatic experience in your childhood or adulthood years? I would recommend the following tips that may be of assistance to you when you get to this step.
- Be proud of being an individual: Being an individual in this society means being unique and this can be tough at times. Don’t feel too pressured to conform to the petty ideals of society besides it was an individual like you who sat down and created them in the first place right. Less pressure to conform will likely result in less fear associated with not conforming.
- Have Fun: Most Atelophobics are perfectionist to the degree that the fun is taken out of anything they do. They are so consumed with ensuring that the job is done with what they perceive to be einsteinian accuracy that they do not take the time to enjoy what they do.
